Above is the crazy-photogenic as well as vibrant exterior of The Saguaro hotel where Alt summit was held. as well as below is the less photographed bathroom from our space (maybe fluorescent lights aren’t as incredible as daylight when it comes to lots of strong colors…).

Since we mentioned a number of people that we satisfied at the seminar (certainly not all of ’em, it was overflowing with awesome people), right here are some links to a few of the people we yelled out in the episode:

Jenny Komenda from bit eco-friendly Notebook (we interviewed her on Episode #31, which was a fan favorite)

Gabrielle Blair from style mom (who’s likewise the creator of Alt Summit)

Jaime Derringer from style Milk (her deadpan sense of humor was THE BEST)

We likewise failed to remember to mention that we saw Mandi from vintage Revivals (we’ve satisfied her a few times before at the Haven Conference) however since we were out on her coastline this time, we lastly got to see her trailer (aka: The Nugget) in person, which was even more impressive in genuine life.

Lastly, we mentioned exactly how we didn’t get to see much of the town (at least in the daylight) – so for now can we just relish exactly how quite the palm Springs flight terminal is? I mean, half the thing is OUTDOORS for crying out loud.

Listener Question: mixing Metals

Above is a photo of the mixing metals that we have in our kitchen, which we referenced (polished nickel throughout most of the space (faucet, pulls, lights) however stainless steel on the appliances, as well as gold in a few of the less permanent/attached accessories).

Our son’s bedroom is one more example of layering in a few different metals that each happen a few times so whatever looks intentional. His doorknob, curtain rod, as well as the pulls on his built-ins are all oil-rubbed bronze, however there’s that brushed nickel fan in the foreground together with some cleaned nickel frames as well as a piggy bank on his shelf (not pictured) to balance things out.

This old photo of our hall bathroom likewise shows exactly how two metal completes can come together in a space (two brass mirrors + polished nickel hardware on the cupboards as well as the lighting).

We likewise mentioned mixing metals in a few of our latest illumination designs, so here’s the “Dapper wall Sconce” which mixes brass as well as matte black (it likewise is available in all polished nickel, for those who prefer a simpler look).

And as guaranteed – here’s the poll about exactly how you guys feel about brass (if you’re in a visitor you’ll have to click with to the publish to see the poll & the results):

(POLL has CLOSED)

We’re Digging

Here’s that Samplize Indiegogo campaign that we contributed to. Fingers crossed that it becomes a thing (and that it’s as great as it sounds!)

Here are the charcoal deodorizing bags that Sherry has been consumed with for many years (we just ordered two sets of them to replace our old ones, which Sherry originally checked out about in genuine simple magazine back in 2014).

We generally just tuck them on a bookshelf (they can look like a gray linen bookend) or hide them behind on a tabletop (one’s always hiding behind a vase on our dining space sideboard), however we pulled this out on Sherry’s nightstand for you to see them “in the wild.” See the small gray pouch below with a grommet in the corner? That’s it.
